LANGUAGE ASSISTANTS:

Hi, I’m Emma! I was born and raised in Los Angeles California. I received a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Cornell University in Ithaca New York. After graduation I immediately left the cold of the East Coast to teach in the Bay Area (Northern California). For the last two years I taught Elementary school for Teach for America, both third and second grade, and it was one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences of my life. This is my first year teaching at El Pinar and I’m pleasantly surprised that I’m enjoying teaching older students so much. I currently help teach English, Art, Music, and Technology for 1st and 2nd of ESO. I’ve enjoyed getting to know my students, and engaging in conversations about everything from present perfect to Billie Eilish’s new music. I can’t wait for more time at this school. This is my first time in Spain and I look forward to a time where it is safe to travel.

Bianca

Hello, I'm Bianca! I'm from Manila, Philippines. It's my second year as an assistant in El Pinar. I've helped out in many different classes like English, Art, PE, and History and I'm grateful to be working with fantastic teachers and students!

Before this, I worked in advertising for a few years. As much as I loved my job as a writer, I decided to come to Spain for a new experience— and it's been incredible so far! Looking forward to growing and learning together with the students.

Olivia:

Hi I’m Olivia. I’m from a town in North Wales, UK. I graduated from University of Liverpool in German, Spanish and Portuguese. I first fell in love with Spain when I did my Erasmus in Valencia, so I came back as soon as I finished my degree. I love languages and am really passionate about how they can enrich our lives with experiences that we stay with us forever. I chose to come to Spain to teach English because I want all children to have those opportunities ahead of them, too.

During my first year at El Pinar I primarily worked with 1st and 2nd of ESO and this year I have been working with 4th ESO and 1st Bachillerato. I’ve loved every moment here so far and continue to try and find fun and engaging content that the students can relate to. We do a lot of speaking practice with a focus on expanding our range of vocabulary; learning new synonyms, idioms, verbs etc. I love this job - it is so rewarding to see the students grow personally and advance academically! The students are great!

Roberto

Hello! I’m Roberto, an English language auxiliar from the United States, Florida specifically. I graduated with a degree in Biology and Cultural Anthropology, I’ve also studied Fine Arts. I enjoy teaching with projects, games, and activities to engage the students mentally and physically. I’ve been an Auxiliar in both València and Madrid. Prior to being an auxiliar in Spain I worked with doctors and free-lanced as a graphic designer. I love being in Spain and traveling around discovering new things to eat and experience! Also I love eating, so if anyone makes a good croqueta let me know.
