Proyectos de inmersión
Está claro que una de las mejores maneras de crear momentos memorables y de practicar inglés a la vez, es realizar un viaje durante unos días. Por eso, en el instituto intentamos que todos los años los alumnos tengan la oportunidad de hacer una salida más larga en la que puedan acostumbrarse a comunicarse con otra gente por medio de la lengua inglesa, estar en contacto directo con la cultura de países angloparlantes y, por supuesto, vivir experiencias inolvidables en compañía de sus compañeros y amigos.
Todos los años, participamos en los Programas de Inmersión Lingüística organizados por el Ministerio de Educación. Gracias a estos programas, hemos ido a Jaca y Amposta, donde nos han puesto al día en temas de reciclaje y desarrollo sostenible, utilizando la lengua inglesa como lengua vehicular.
Además, cada año se proponen uno o dos viajes para que los alumnos puedan ir una semana a un país de habla inglesa donde combinan clases de inglés con la convivencia con familias inglesas y actividades lúdicas.
Este año tuvimos una fantástica semana de inmersión en Oundle, Cambridgeshire, del 2 al 9 de abril, con un grupo de alumnos de 1º y 2º ESO.
LANGUAGE & CULTURAL IMMERSION
Being away for a few days is clearly one of the best ways we can practice English whilst building relationships and having amazing experiences with our peers. That´s why we always try to give our students the chance to go away for a week or so so that they can get used to communicating with others in English and experience life in an English-speaking country. Obviously, they also benefit by having fun and enjoying unforgettable experiences with their classmates and friends.
Every year, we participate in the Ministry of Education’s Immersion program, thanks to which we have been to Jaca and Amposta, both gorgeous locations in the north of Spain. In Jaca and Amposta, the kids got up to date with recycling and sustainable development issues, always using the English language in workshops, lessons, and leisure activities.
Besides this program, trips abroad are offered each year, so that our students can visit a foreign country for a week, stay with a host family and have lessons and fun, all in English!
This year, we spent an amazing week in Oundle, Cambridgeshire! We stayed there from 2nd to 9th April, with a group of students from first and second year. If you have a look at the pictures you will see what an awesome time we all had!
