REPRESENTACIONES TEATRALES:

Drama Performances:

'Improving Co. Shakespeare'

William Shakespeare claimed that:

All the world's a stage,

And all the men and women merely players;

They have their exits and their entrances,

And one man in his time plays many parts,

His acts being seven ages.

As You Like It Act 2, scene 7, 139–143

One of our favorite cultural activities is the annual theatrical performances we host from the theater company IMPROVING CO SHAKESPEARE. Through role-plays, games, improve activities, and Shakespearean stories, the students of El Pinar improve their English-speaking abilities. Students strengthen their communication skills, their pronunciation, intonation, fluency, vocabulary, in addition to their critical reasoning and ability to work in teams.

The context of their performances could not be better. Students are immersed in several interesting stories with dynamic characters, learn more about both Shakespeare and his characters, and live a day in which they interact with the English language in a completely new and immersive way. And of course, they enjoy it! It´s clear from their smiling faces in the photos.

Once again, this year we have received Improving Company, who was in charge of the representation of several adaptations of American Classics. The students in El Pinar learnt about the social and cultural situation of the USA in the periods of the Civil War and its aftermath, the Reconstruction Era, the Roaring 20s and cthe Great Depression; plus, they enjoyed a day full of drama, English language and lots of fun, because remember, learning can be fun! We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as they enjoyed it yesterday.
